This role is accountable for the full P&L and overall performance of the US market. You’ll set the strategic direction, lead a cross-functional team, and champion Benefit’s disruptive DNA across every retail touchpoint. The ideal candidate is a proven leader with entrepreneurial grit, deep market experience, and the ability to translate vision into action.
What You’ll Do:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a market strategy that balances short-term performance with long-term brand equity and sustainable growth.
- Serve as the strategic bridge between San Francisco HQ and the U.S. market—adapting global priorities to meet local business realities.
Commercial Excellence & P&L Ownership
- Lead the U.S. business with full P&L accountability—driving sales, managing margins, and protecting profitability.
- Optimize pricing, trade terms, and promotional levers in partnership with retail partners and internal stakeholders.
Operational & Brand Execution
- Oversee end-to-end operations including forecasting, replenishment, logistics, compliance, financial planning, IT, and HR.
- Ensure operational excellence and consistency across counters, retail activations, and customer experiences.
Market & Consumer Expertise
- Leverage deep US market knowledge to shape decisions, challenge assumptions, and stay ahead of emerging trends.
- Build and maintain influential relationships with key retail partners and other industry stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Validated General Manager experience in a similarly scaled or entrepreneurial consumer brand (beauty, fashion, lifestyle highly preferred).
- Proven market knowledge of LATAM beauty and retail landscape, including key players, trends, and consumer behaviors.
- BA Degree or equivalent required; MBA or advanced business education a plus.
- Demonstrated strategic leadership with the ability to set direction and inspire high-performing teams.
- Proven commercial acumen and success in managing and growing a profitable P&L.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word); experience with financial systems, CRM, and retail analytics platforms a plus.
Schedule:
- Hybrid - requires onsite presence weekly
The target salary range for this position in California is $345,000 - $385,000 annually. The actual salary offered is based on market location and will depend on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, years of relevant experience; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. This position is eligible to earn an annual bonus.
